DIRECTOR / WRITER / PRODUCER

Mitchell Akselrad has worked in the entertainment industry for fifteen years. As a screenwriter, he began his career while still at the University of Michigan, winning several accolades including the Hopwood Award (First Prize), the Lawrence Kasdan Screenwriting Scholarship, the Peter & Barbara Benedek Screenwriting Award, and The Arthur Miller Award of the U-M Club of New York Scholarship. His feature film script TITANS OF PARK ROW! was voted onto the Hollywood Black List, which denotes the best unproduced screenplays in the film industry.

During his career, he wrote and produced on all seasons of TURN: Washington Spies for AMC, rising to the level of Co-Executive Producer.  He currently has multiple series in development, including undisclosed projects with THUNDER ROAD FILMS, SB PROJECTS and VILLAGE ROADSHOW. He has developed television series and feature films with AMC Network, Hulu, F/X, Fox 21, New Regency and Warner Brothers Studios among others.

As a director-writer, Akselrad has completed projects for the New York Jets Football Team and Great Oaks’ GO Fellowship as well as several commercials for brands including Aston Martin, Porsche, and Macallan Scotch Whiskey.
